Visual expression is one of my life's greatest joys. Learning that the journey is the best part has taken many years. I enjoy painting the face and figure. This gentleman at a Santa Fe market caught my eye and I was able to capture his profile half in shadow. The bright sunlight along with the colors of the southwest in my limited palette helped to convey his spirit and the spirit of this town.
