As a spectator at a local PowWow behind our mission, I waited for the opening ceremony and the dancing to begin. While the ring was empty, a young girl entered the ring and started twirling around. I was captivated by her lack of self consciousness and easy movements. This painting is based on a photograph I took of the child amidst my wonder.
