I love the "bling" of chrome and reflections in painted metal. I like the contrast caused by the sun on these surfaces, creating the shadows of the car shapes and shadows that are captured on the objects in reflection. Each part of the painting tells a little story about the car itself, the people, and the reflections of the other cars in the exhibition: Keels and Wheels Cours de Elegance, Lakewood Yacht Club, Texas. I hope to give the viewer something to spend time looking at: the details, the colors, the figures, trees, and of course the reflections. It took me three months for me to create this painting, as I would change the reflections from the photo that I used to make it more interesting, more colorful, or for better composition.
