Artist's Statement about this work: The Grand Canyon is a panorama of constantly changing lighting and scenery. One could paint all their lives and never finish with the possibilities. I am intrigued by the changing lighting conditions throughout the day and seasons. The contrasts between sunlight and shadow are ever fascinating. The subtleties of color are endlessly transforming. I've been fortunate enough to hike and raft through the canyon many times, and so I feel I have formed a bond with this huge, everchanging canyon.

Artist's Statement about this work: The year 2020, came to a staggering halt when the corona virus hit the world. This painting depicts hope as we pass through the horror and come out on the other side - soon.

Artist's Statement about this work: Visiting Whidbey Island a few summers ago, it was a beautiful time on the Island with a gathering of artists of all kinds and musicians. I was able to observe an artisan working his craft of glass blowing. He had a very busy board with so many varying sizes of paper post-its, tubes, poles, buckets, towels and tools throughout. It was quite the commotion all around him, however, he was very focused on his task and it was interesting to watch. I tried to depict the artisan with the appropriate light and commotion all around him while he was practicing his craft.

Artist's Statement about this work: This is a painting of a woman before her time. An independent woman who finds herself alone and ponders how her life has gone. I have used muted colors and abstracted forms to highlight the emotion on the woman's face.

Artist's Statement about this work: I really do love the Fall so much, when leaves turn such beautiful colors. But my joy is tinged with sadness when they fall from the trees, and wither on the ground ... turning into parchment-paper-thin skeletons which crumble into dust. Truly, conquests of the wind, and victims of Summer’s death. This "portrait" of dying leaves is representative of all those feelings for me.

Artist's Statement about this work: Last August while visiting my daughter in Montrose, on the Western Slope of Colorado, I luxuriated during the warm afternoons underneath a fragrant pear tree, peering up through branches loaded with rich, ripe pears. The heavenly greens and golds and warm browns filled my vision, maturing within me after I returned home until the sheer physicality of ripe pears flowed from my brush onto paper.
